Ownership and Management of the Nanaimo Buccaneers Junior Hockey Team are pleased to announce the appointment of local Nanaimo Minor Hockey and Nanaimo Junior A Clipper standout AJ Gale as Assistant Coach for the upcoming season. AJ started his career in the VIJHL which lead to an impressive BCHL career and a Fred Page Cup Doyle Cup Championship (2004) with the Nanaimo Clippers. AJ went on to a stellar NCAA Division 1 and III career advancing his hockey career to the American Hockey League and Europe Division 1. An injury in his final year as a Pro ended his career prematurely.
General Manager Bill Bestwick commented, The addition of AJ to the Coaching staff is an outstanding moment for the organization and every player he will have an impact on. AJ possesses a natural ability to calmly communicate concepts and strategy while providing first hand, the requirements necessary to succeed to the next level. AJ excels on the offensive strategy, puck skill teachings and power play systems. His biography as a player, communication skill set and high level experience to draw on speaks for itself.
AJ resides in Nanaimo with his Wife Bailey and Children Dallas (6) and Grayson (3)
