The Buccaneers took to the ice this weekend with a home and home exhibition set with the Oceanside Generals. Friday, both teams tried to ice a younger lineup. The game had a good pace to it with many young men trying to make a case for themselves to play junior hockey this season. The Buccaneers carried the play most of the game after giving up an early 3 on 1 to the generals that ended up in the back of the net. Newly signed Tanner Roberts and 16 year old Riley Gannon who had just gotten back from the BCHLs Port Alberni Bulldogs each tallied for the 2-1 Victory. Max Gaudet and Cedric Lesieur were between the pipes and both looked solid.

Saturdays Game the Buccaneers iced a few more vets then the Generals. The puck was possessed by the Buccaneers for most of the night and the teams defence looked like they were starting to get to know each other. 5th Year veteran Owen Dalman scored two goals, Tanner Roberts scored his second exhibition goal and 20 year old Darian Harris also potted one. Shots in the game were 43-12 for the Buccaneers. Austin Dendl and Goaltender Dylan Wilson were between the pipes.

Ice Chips: The Buccaneers trimmed the roster by two more players Sunday and now carry 15 Forwards 10 Defenceman and 3 Goalies who are junior eligible this season. A few local 2003’s are also skating with the club. Brandon Melsness, Parker Klippenstein and Tyson Pauze will practice with the team before heading back to there respective clubs.
