Ownership and Management of the Nanaimo Buccaneers Junior Hockey Team are pleased to announce the appointment of local Nanaimo Minor Hockey and Nanaimo Clipper player and former Assistant Coach Brett Bestwick as Assistant Coach for the upcoming season. Brett started his Junior career in the VIJHL advancing to the Nanaimo Clippers. An outstanding point a game final season propelled Brett to Geneseo State University, members of SUNYAC Division III. Brett has served as an Assistant Coach with the Nanaimo Clippers while providing valuable player scouting and recruiting for the team. Brett brings a keen eye and ability to identify in game adjustments as well as a strong ability to connect with players on and off the ice. Brett comprehends the individual will and virtues necessary to compete in all situations to earn opportunity and has the innate ability to convey the message to all players. Defensive mindset and commitment to Penalty Kill designs and coverage is an area of specialty the team will draw upon.
