On Sunday, January 12th, the Nanaimo Buccaneers hosted Minor Hockey Day, and it was an unforgettable event filled with high energy, fun, and incredible community spirit! With over 300 fans, families, and minor hockey players in attendance, the arena was alive with excitement as we celebrated the future of hockey right here in Nanaimo.
One of the highlights of the day was the U9 Division 1 ‘Nightmares’ taking the ice during intermission. These young athletes put on an incredible show, showcasing their passion for the game and some impressive moves! Watching their enthusiasm and teamwork was both heartwarming and inspiring. The crowd loved every minute of it, cheering them on with all the energy of a packed house.
We’re beyond grateful for the support of everyone who came out to celebrate minor hockey and cheer on the Buccaneers. Events like this remind us why hockey is more than just a game – it’s a community, and Sunday proved just how strong that community is here in Nanaimo.
Thank you to the Nightmares, their families, and all the fans who made this day so special. Let’s keep the momentum going – we can’t wait to see you all back at the rink for our next home game!
Go Bucs! 🖤💛
