
Nanaimo, BC – The Nanaimo Buccaneers are pleased to announce the additions of Colten Hayes, Scott Little, Daniel Higgs, and Nolan Corrado to the organization’s scouting staff as well as the return of Daeman Fraser to the scouting department. “I have extensive history working with Colten, Scott, Daniel, and Nolan while most recently working with Daeman at our ID Camp and we are thrilled to have an experienced group of Scouts allowing us to feel comfortable knowing that we will have eyes on top talent all over BC & AB,” said Head Coach & General Manager Lee Stone.
Colten Hayes will serve as the Director of Alberta Scouting. Colten played professionally for four seasons before Joining the scouting staff of the Campbell River Storm. In his final three years with the Storm, Hayes was instrumental in identifying talent from the AEHL U18 level and scouted over 15 players that played with the Storm.
The Owner/Operator of Coast 2 Coast Hockey Development is an Okotoks, AB native and is currently participating in the 2023 Allan Cup.
Scott Little has spent the past two seasons working with the Campbell River Storm scouting the Mid and South Island. Scott recently evaluated at our ID Camp and will be at both the Victoria Grizzlies and Cowichan Valley Capitals camps this weekend.
Daniel Higgs has spent the last two seasons as an Assistant Coach of the Thompson Blazers U17 program based out of Kamloops, BC. Higgs will be a key asset in evaluating BCEHL talent as he moves to coaching the U18 program in Kamloops.
Nolan Corrado is currently playing for the Okanagan Lakers of the BCIHL and is based out of Kelowna, BC. Corrado will be a familiar face to some as a two year VIJHL veteran who also spent time playing in the KIHL, SUHL and WHL.
Corrado will focus on scouting the Kelowna area.
Daeman Fraser will return to the Buccaneers staff for his second season as a Scout focusing on scouting in the Victoria area. Fraser recently evaluated our ID Camp and will be at the Victoria Grizzlies and Cowichan Valley Capitals camps this weekend.
Look for the Buccaneers to announce further additions to the Hockey Operations and Scouting departments, including additions to British Columbia, Saskatchewan and the United States in the coming weeks.
