Buccaneers to Hit the Road Against Comox Valley Glacier Kings

The Nanaimo Buccaneers are set to face off against the Comox Valley Glacier Kings at the Comox Valley Sports Centre on Saturday, September 27th, at 6:30 pm PDT. This matchup comes on the heels of the Buccaneers’ 2-0 (empty net goal) loss to powerhouse Peninsula Panthers, defending VIJHL champions. 

Last Meeting

The last time the Bucs and Comox Valley met, the Buccaneers emerged victorious with a 4-2 win at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.  Madden CruickshankDreyton HaywardLukas Needham, and Nolan Ganter scored for the Buccaneers, while Maxim Lefebvre and Zaya Morro found the net for Comox Valley. The Buccaneers’ power play was effective, scoring two goals on four opportunities.

Buccaneers’ Current Course

After their first loss of the season (2-0 to Peninsula) the 4-1 Buccaneers are looking to regroup and come out strong against the Glacier Kings. Following the loss against Peninsula, Assistant Head Coach Brett Bestwick succinctly expressed his team’s excitement for more hockey and their love of the game, saying, “We look forward to our next outing.” With a quick Thursday to Saturday turnaround, the Buccaneers will get their wish and hit the road to Comox Valley.
