Glacier Kings Outlast Buccaneers 5-3

The Comox Valley Glacier Kings outlasted the Nanaimo Buccaneers 5-3 in a Saturday night, VIJHL matchup at the Comox Valley Sports Centre. The Glacier Kings took an early lead and never looked back, with Zaya Morro scoring three goals and adding an assist to lead the Glacier Kings’ charge.

The Buccaneers jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal from Madden Cruickshank, but the Glacier Kings quickly responded with two goals in the first period to take an early 2-1 lead – a lead they would never relinquish. 

Ethan Nordli and Koen Gauthier joined Cruickshank as Bucs’ scorers.

The Glacier Kings outshot the Buccaneers 45-36 and controlled the tempo of the game.

The win improves the Glacier Kings’ record to 2-4-1-0 on the season, while the Buccaneers fall to 4-2-0-0.
