The Nanaimo Buccaneers erupted for four unanswered goals in a dominant third period, powering their way to a 7–4 comeback victory over the Lake Cowichan Kraken at the Cowichan Lake Sports Arena.

Nanaimo jumped out to a 2–0 lead after the opening frame, but the Kraken clawed back and carried a 4–3 advantage into the third. From there, the Bucs took over completely.

Nate Barclay led the offense with two goals, while third star Dylan Lazaroff, Zach Spafford, Rhys Wilcox, Nate Hughes, and Madden Cruickshank — who iced the game with an empty-netter — rounded out the scoring for Nanaimo (14-9-1, 29 points).

Between the pipes, second star Adam Ranger was outstanding, turning aside 35 shots and keeping the Bucs steady during the pushback from Lake Cowichan.

For the Kraken (7-15-0-1), first star Viktor Dudenkov registered a hat trick and Kieran Prichett added one. Goaltender Alfie Blakeley stopped 29 shots in the loss.

The Buccaneers’ third-period surge showcased resilience, depth, and timely scoring — a strong road win as they continue climbing the North Division standings.
