BUCS POWER PAST GLACIER KINGS

The Nanaimo Buccaneers absorbed a four-goal push from the Comox Valley Glacier Kings but countered with steady scoring of their own—striking twice in both the first and second periods—to skate away with a 7–4 victory Saturday night at the Comox Valley Sports Centre.

Nanaimo showcased one of their most balanced offensive outings of the season. Davis Young scored twice, while Casey Rutland, Zach Spafford, Dreyton Hayward, Nate Barclay, and Jack Barrett each added singles to round out the attack. Between the pipes, Adam Ranger turned aside 24 shots to secure the win. The victory adds to the Bucs’ momentum as they continue climbing the North Division standings.

Up next, the Buccaneers return home to the NIC on Thursday, December 11th at 7:15 p.m. to host the Port Alberni Bombers. It’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting nights of the season — the annual Teddy Bear Toss in support of The Great Nanaimo Toy Drive, celebrating its 48th anniversary. Bring a new stuffed toy and get ready to launch it onto the ice after the first Bucs goal!It will be a night for everyone to come together and celebrate community, hockey, and the spirit of giving.
