The Nanaimo Buccaneers showed their resilience and offensive depth Thursday night, skating to a thrilling 7–5 victory at the Nanaimo Ice Centre in front of 275 fans.
After a back-and-forth contest through two periods, the Bucs delivered when it mattered most. Bostyn MacDonald scored the eventual game-winner late in the third period, earning first star honours while adding two assists. Dylan Lazaroff sealed the win with an insurance marker in the final minutes.
Nanaimo received strong contributions throughout the lineup. Lukas Needham and Jaxin Karst each found the back of the net twice, while Zach Spafford rounded out the scoring. In goal, Carter Puska was solid, turning aside 31 shots to earn the win as the Bucs led 3–1 and 4–3 at the period breaks.
With the victory, Nanaimo improves to 21-10-1 (43 points), holding firm in second place in the North Division and continuing to build momentum as the season progresses.
The Nanaimo Buccaneers now turn their focus to their next challenge, looking to keep the wins rolling on the road.
