BUCS TAKE OVER FIRST PLACE

First star Dreyton Hayward led the way with two goals as the Nanaimo Buccaneers earned a 5–3 victory on the road at the Cowichan Lake Sports Arena.

Nanaimo (25-10-1 for 51 points) climbed into first place in the North Division, holding the edge over Oceanside with two games in hand. The Bucs rounded out the scoring with goals from Nate Hughes, Kai Verbrugge, and Tristen Bailey, while Bostyn MacDonald added a strong three-assist performance to earn third-star honours.

Between the pipes, Anton Palmquist was solid with 28 saves, backstopping the Bucs to another key divisional win.
