NANAIMO POWERS TO THE TOP SPOT

The Nanaimo Buccaneers powered past the Saanich Predators with a strong third-period push, scoring the final three goals to lock down a 5–2 win at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.

Nanaimo (26-10-1 – 53 points) grabbed sole possession of first place in the North Division thanks to goals from Lukas Needham, Jaxin Karst, Madden Cruickshank, Rhys Wilcox, and Casey Rutland (empty net).

Boston Cripps earned first star honours with a key assist, while Tristen Bailey added two helpers for a three-point weekend. Between the pipes, Aaron Pichette turned away 23 shots to secure the victory.

The Bucs continue to roll as they look to widen their lead atop the standings. Next up, the Bucs are back at home to faceoff against the Oceanside Generals on January 29th. Puck drops at 7:15pm.
