A dominant performance from the Nanaimo Buccaneers powered a 5–0 road victory Friday night, highlighted by a 29-save shutout from second star Aaron Pichette — closing out January with a perfect performance between the pipes — and two goals from Jaxin Karst, bringing him to 19 on the season.
Nanaimo (28-10-1 for 57 points, first in the North Division) controlled the game from puck drop, building period leads of 2–0 and 3–0 before sealing the win. Casey Rutland scored his 8th goal of the season, Madden Cruickshank added his 19th, and Dylan Konschuh recorded his 3rd, rounding out a complete team effort.
The Bucs fired 54 shots on goal and continue to surge atop the North Division standings.
Next up, the Bucs head into February with a home game against Westshore on February 5th at the Nanaimo Ice Centre. Puck drops at 7:15pm.
