Full-time Goalie Coach Marcus Beesley is proving to be one of the Nanaimo Buccaneers’ most impactful additions this season, paying major dividends in his first full campaign behind the bench.
Beesley joined the Bucs in September after relocating from Alberta, where he spent more than 12 years developing elite netminders with World Pro Goaltending. His experience and technical expertise have already produced impressive results within the Buccaneers’ crease.
Under Beesley’s guidance, Aaron Pichette has elevated his game to new heights and now leads the league with 18 wins, showcasing calm consistency and major growth in his mechanics and positioning. Newly acquired netminder Tanner Ferrill is also thriving—most recently backstopping the Bucs to a gritty 4–3 overtime victory in Peninsula, earning instant confidence from both teammates and staff.
Beyond his work with the Buccaneers, Beesley offers private and team goaltending sessions seven days a week, giving goalies across the region access to top-tier instruction from one of the sport’s most trusted and experienced developers.
