Bucs Take Series Lead Behind Pichette’s Second Straight Shutout

The Nanaimo Buccaneers defeated the Campbell River Storm 3–0 on the road Tuesday night, taking a 2–0 lead in their North Division playoff series.

Goaltender Aaron Pichette delivered another stellar performance, stopping all 25 shots he faced to record his second consecutive shutout and earn first star honours.

The Bucs opened the scoring with a goal from Curtis Freeman, before Nate Barclay doubled the lead. Dylan Lazaroff added the third goal as Nanaimo controlled the game from start to finish.

Nanaimo held a 1–0 lead after the first period and extended it to 2–0 after two, backed by a strong defensive effort and steady goaltending from Pichette.

Next up: The Buccaneers return home for Game 3 on Thursday, March 5, with puck drop set for 7:05 PM.
