Home-Ice Battle: Bucs Aim for Three Straight!

The Nanaimo Buccaneers are set to host the Peninsula Panthers in a Sunday 3:15 PM matinee at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.

The 2024–25 VIJHL Panthers come to town with a veteran-heavy roster, locked in a tight race with Westshore for first overall in the league standings.

The Bucs, meanwhile, are riding momentum after two straight wins, including a convincing 4–1 home-ice victory over the North Division-leading Campbell River Storm.

Newly-acquired centre Dylan Lazaroff joins the lineup, adding skill, speed, and creativity to the Buccaneers’ offence. The talented forward brings play-driving ability and a knack for generating scoring chances.

Between the pipes, veteran Aaron Pichette is coming off his best performance of the season, turning aside 36 shots in Thursday’s win.

Nanaimo looks to build on their recent success and avenge an earlier 2–0 loss to the Panthers, which included a late empty-net goal.
